05/19/09 / We will support the ex-Savatage singer Zak Stevens and his band Circle II Circle on their gig in Bratislava on 05/22/09 (+ Manticora and Burningblack).
It will be our last performance for next few months in Bratislava. After this show we will lock ourselves in the practice room (maybe with some summer festival exception) until the completion of new material. Our new album should appear on Christmas of some undefined year :)

10/19/07 / We would like to thank all the folks that have come to see us supporting Symphony X, as well as the promoters for a chance to perform on such a great show. We would play in Randal Klub once more on 11/02/07 and the next day in Nitra. After these shows we will have a little break with the live performances and begin to concentrate more on preparing new songs.

On 01/11/07 we will support Evergrey on their Slovak show. The concert will take place in Stara Pekaren Club in Nitra and in this way we would like to thank the management of the Doublehead Productions Agency and the management of Evergrey.

thanx to all fans for support and also we would like to thank our co-operators Dada, Oleg and Semis. CD is out now and we hope, that you will enjoy to listen to it. some radical news are here, as we promised: Our CD is turning into reality !!! We have arranged the last little studio finenesses during August. Nowadays our child lies in the hands of the cloning specialists from the Diskus company. But there are a little complications as usually ...the needed details were delivered to the pressroom in the very last hour, so we hope the CD will be out on the date of its presentation, that we prepare on 10/06/06 in Randal Klub :)))

radical news will be added in a short period :))) At least we announce some upcoming gigs, mostly at places, that were saved from our sonic attack in the past. This time Trencin and Banska Bystrica will hold the sack, but also our brothers from Prague and Plzen. At these shows we will share the stage with amazing bands and we look forward to your attendance. Also we look forward to the second act of Less//than//fest, Bratislava, where we will appear as one of the performers. 03/19/06 / Info from the Castaway camp: Mayo finished the vocal recordings, Andrej returns from Italy and we are about to go to Trnava for the final editing and mastering. That is one of the latest steps we have to pass over before the release of the cd. The official title of the release will be "Over the Drowning Water" and we are very happy about the fact that you can hear it in a short period. Yogi

02/07/06 / Once again we are a little bit closer to our long expected first release of Castaway. Nowadays Mayo is recording the vocals, afterwards we will definitely finish guitar and keyboards recordings and in the course of two months wo would like to end the mixing process... 12/10/05 / Some news again. Andrej is returning from Italy and Castaway is awaken again. According to what was mentioned in forum, we prepare a live gig on 01/13/06 in Doombrafka, Bratislava. A small version of the poster is HERE

12/09/05 /  The creation process of the first release of Castaway is coming to its end, slowly but constantly. During Sempember we spent a week in Studio J, Trnava, where we recorded (with the help from Milan Tököly) drums, bass guitars and rhythm guitars. In October we moved to the Package studios, Bratislava, where we are now recording vocals and keyboards with intensive assistance of Oleg Gal. Deadline is set on the 14th of December, when we return again to Trnava to add some solo and acoustic guitars and to make final mixing and mastering. As we well know ourselves, surely we will not to be able to realise this target on time :o)). So the works on this CD should be finished until the next spring. When the whole material will be ready, we will try to find the most effective methods of distribution. Yet there is no definitive decision about the title, but almost certainly following 9 tracks will appear on it: 1. Wanting Seed, 2. Sanity Embraces, 3. This Integration, 4. Wish You Could Save Me (Unfinished Dreams part I.), 5. Castaway, 6. A Different Place, 7. Goodbye To All That, 8. Letters In the Sand (Unfinished Dreams part II.), 9. 09/03/05 / In these days Castaway is in the full line-up (Andrej is back from Italy) and full force and the next week we are going to the studio to transmit our musical thoughts and skills on a little silver disc. Soon a diary from the recording process will appear here. As I well know the guys and myself, it will be surely a pleasant reading. :o)

06/05/05 / During the long and silent period of Castaway :-), I would like to inform you about some events, that occured since our last gig. Petruccio finished the high school succesfully with final exams, in this way we send congratulations to him, Matúš is torturing himself with preparing for the exams, Janko is tunning his car to unbearable measures :), Mayo is scheming his secret plans, even he doesn't know about them, as well as they are secret. Recently I finished with the exams and I'm changing my job (hope that it will not become regular :) ). And finally, our "foreign" fellow Andrej (besides his studying activities), is roaming in such places as Assisi (this place reminds me only when someone says "st. Francis" :-D ). Some pictures from this trip will appear soon in section Gallery. Let me quote Andrej: "not even Pink Floyd have such promotion" :))) I wish you a nice beginning of summer. Yogi

04/19/05 / Today our brother Andrej :) left again to Italy to continue in his studies, and so our band will stop the concert activities for a while, however you can see us again at Babylon Club in May. Detailed info in section Concerts.

I want to thank, in the name of our band, to all the people, that made for us the possibility to perform that gig, but first of all to all people, that went to the show to suppport us and eventually to create a "fan base" :-) We would like to thank also the band Evergrey, that we supported and became friends with. 04/06/05 / Althought we don't want to bind the activities of our band with any religion (and by no means with some conservative opinions of today's catholic church), we cannot leave unmarked the fact, that with the personality of Karol Wojtyla, one of the most significant symbols of the essence of humanity, empathy and religious tolerance, departed from this world. As those are the values that found a place also in our expression, we join the wave of sorrow, that took the whole world in recent days.

04/06/05 / Nowadays we make some final editing on our pre-production demo recordings, that we recorded almost alive at Package studio, Dubravka actively assisted by Oleg "Trigger" Gal. If the preparations are in time, a little sample could appear here in the near future. The recording of a regular cd is planned at the end of summer, a release containing about 9-10 songs should be available till the end of this year.

04/06/05 / It's going to be a hectic week. On 15th of April our friendly band Amalthea (some members of Castaway with other friends) will appear at DK Dubravka. The day after we will celebrate birthday of Janko, the drummer of both bands. At the same time, after a long and hard struggle, Andrej will graduate at the Comenius University. For all fans of Matus and Galadriel, this dark squad will appear on 16th of April, in Debrecen. On the same day some members of Castaway will join the great show of Queen at Prague... and finally if we all survive that events, we'll meet you on 18th of April at Babylon, when we'll support Evergrey.

04/04/05 / We are very pleased to welcome you on the official website of Castaway! Castaway is a rock/metal band from Bratislava, actually working on the songs for the first CD. Despite the fact that the history of Castaway is written only since 2004, in recent years you could meet with the musical activities of particular members in bands like Amalthea, Crusader, Dead-Poets-Society, From a Distance, Galadriel... ecc. The website was launched in April of 2005 and it will be little by little updated with further informations and news about the band, as well as with its activities. Actually you got some basic info about the band members, biography and first photos. We look forward to your reactions and we hope that you will often like to return on this site...
